Off-track garage door repair
A door can come off its track after being hit by a car, when a cable breaks, or when rollers wear out. A door that's crooked or jammed is under uneven tension and can fall.
What to do
- Don't run the opener. Unplug it if you can do so safely.
- Don't try to force the door up or down.
- Keep people and cars clear until a technician has looked at it.
DASMA advises building occupants not to adjust doors, springs, or attached hardware, since springs are under extreme tension (DASMA TDS-174).
